Cuyahoga County residents struggling to stay cool during the summer months may be eligible for assistance through Ohio’s Summer Crisis Program, which is available through Sept. 30.
Administered by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and local provider Step Forward, the program helps income-eligible households pay electric bills, purchase air conditioners or fans, and repair central air conditioning units.
The Summer Crisis Program is designed to assist low-income households, residents facing utility disconnection or shutoff, individuals establishing new electric service, and households with members age 60 or older or those with documented medical conditions.
