A new parking garage is the next step in Cleveland Hopkins’ massive makeover

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Plans to remake Cleveland Hopkins International Airport are moving forward, with new details emerging about a $301 million parking garage that will pave the way for construction of a new terminal.

The Cleveland Planning Commission last week gave preliminary approval to plans for the new 6,000-space parking garage, ground transportation center and RTA station, which are expected to open in 2029.

The parking garage must be completed before construction can begin on the new terminal, which is expected to open in 2032. The terminal will be built on the site of the existing parking garage, which will be demolished after the new garage opens…
