Northeast Ohio addiction specialists said they are seeing an increasing number of patients addicted to kratom, a substance some describe as “gas station heroin.”
“I cannot imagine a person saying that it’s not a dangerous drug that is addictive,” said Dr. Theodore Parran. Parran is the medical director at Rosary Hall St. Vincent Charity Medical Center, an addiction treatment center in Cleveland.
