EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio — Ohio lawmakers approved a $10 million appropriation in June for emergency infrastructure work in East Cleveland. The city is now using that investment as the starting point for a broader plan to reconstruct and redevelop the roughly 2.5-mile stretch of Euclid Avenue that runs through East Cleveland.
The state law does not restrict the $10 million to Euclid Avenue. East Cleveland’s subsequent planning documents focus specifically on the corridor.
The enacted capital budget, Senate Bill 450, says $10 million from the State Capital Improvements Fund must be used for emergency infrastructure improvements in East Cleveland, including roads, bridges, water systems and storm sewers. The law took effect June 15, 2026…
