A guest of a hotel on Lake Avenue called the police department at 4:45 a.m. on Sept. 11 to report that he was in a room with a woman and fell asleep at about 9 p.m. When he woke up, the woman and his rental car, which had been parked in the lot, were gone, according to a police event report.
