The city of Cleveland has started hiring for its newly-established Community Crisis Response Bureau

CLEVELAND — The city of Cleveland has hired the first person to lead the newly established Community Crisis Response Bureau.

“We owe it to our citizens to build this program the right way and to get them the care they need,” Deputy Commissioner Maureen C. Malavé said.

Operating within the Division of EMS, Malavé’s team of unarmed social workers and medics will be the first to respond to 911 calls for nonviolent mental health emergencies…
