Body pulled from Lake Erie now identified

CLEVELAND , Ohio (WJW) — A woman’s body pulled from Lake Erie on Thursday has now been identified.

According to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner, the body of 49-year-old Latina Mitchell was recovered near the East 72nd Street fishing pier in the Cleveland Metroparks .

The report first came from Cleveland police . The Cleveland Division of Fire responded just after 11 a.m. According to officials, two rescue swimmers climbed over ice and entered the water to reach the woman’s body, then swam her to shore.
