That caused alarm since council meetings have been jammed with crowds of angry protesters.

The city has released video from two weeks ago, before a City Council meeting. A man went through a security checkpoint with a grocery bag. The city told us he had what appeared to be tomatoes.

On the video, you see an officer quickly gestured, indicating the man had to take the bag out.

He then took the bag out to the hallway. Next, he returned to the security line.

We’ve learned he may have had persimmons, a fruit that looks like tomato.

Some council members wondered if a crowd planned to throw what was in that bag at city officials.
