CLEVELAND (WJW) – A grand jury returned an indictment charging two men with shooting and killing a Cleveland mother in front of her children.
As the FOX 8 I-Team reported, the victim, 29-year-old Alyson Appling-France, was coming home with groceries on Jan. 10 when she was ambushed outside her apartment complex near West 103rd Street and Detroit Avenue.
Investigators say she was shot 17 times while her kids, ages 6 and 10, were in the vehicle. She was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Homicide investigators arrested two suspects, 49-year-old Jamar Skanes and 34-year-old Alontex Beasley, on Jan. 26.
Now, prosecutors say a grand jury returned an indictment charging the men with Appling-France’s death.

Skanes is charged with aggravated murder, murder and felonious assault. Beasley is charged with aggravated murder, murder, involuntary manslaughter, felonious assault and having weapons while under disability.
