According to Super Market News discount grocer Aldi is the 13th largest U.S. grocery chain, commanding 2.1% of the retail grocery market. Although the company has German roots it has experienced explosive growth in the U.S. Over the last decade Aldi has opened over 1000 stores here in the states.
According to the Aldi website, the company now has 2357 locations nationally. Ohio has a large concentration of those stores with 161. The only states with more are Florida (216) and Illinois (214). The Buckeye State is about to up their total by one. A new store is slated to open on 2/15 at 38275 Chestnut Ridge Rd. Elyria.
If you are going to the new store Aldi encourages you to bring your own bags and make sure you have a quarter for your shopping cart.
