CLEVELAND (WJW) — An investigation is underway following a fatal fire that took place on Cleveland’s east side Tuesday evening.
Cleveland firefighters were called to the 900 block of Paxton Road just after 5 p.m. for reports a fire had broken out at a home, according to a public information officer.

Upon arrival, firefighters said they saw smoke and flames coming from the multi-story home.
Entering the building, firefighters found an elderly woman who had died. Another person was also found and they were taken to the hospital, firefighters said.
The fire department has not yet reported what led to the fire or listed the damages to the property. No firefighters were reported injured in the blaze.
