Elyria woman wins big from scratch-off game celebrating 50 years of Ohio Lottery

ELYRIA, Ohio (WJW) – An Elyria woman is taking home a pretty nice prize after winning $10,000 on a 50th Anniversary scratch-off ticket.

According to Ohio Lottery, after state and federal taxes, the winner will receive $7,200.

As its name implies, the scratch-off game celebrates Ohio Lottery’s 50th Anniversary, lottery officials say. The Ohio Lottery Commission was formed in 1973 and the first Ohio Lottery game, Buckeye 300, went on sale in August 1974, according to the website.

The $50 game has a jackpot of $600,000 a year for 25 years. Lottery officials say three top prizes are still available.
