(WJW) — Officials in Columbus made a public plea for help after a vehicle linked to a statewide Amber Alert issued early Wednesday morning was found in the Cleveland area. But the 5-year-old boy and the woman accused of taking him are still missing.
Columbus police on Wednesday afternoon asked residents of Columbus and the Cleveland area — especially those living in Brooklyn, where the vehicle was found — to search their properties for things that appear to be missing or are out of place. Residents who notice something that’s been disturbed or is missing are urged to call their local police.
“We have no idea what we are dealing with right now. That’s why we are asking for the public’s assistance,” said Columbus Police Chief Elaine Bryant in a press conference. “We believe this child is in danger.”
The situation started in Columbus, shortly after 3 a.m. Darnell Taylor, 5, was reported missing from a home along Reeb Avenue.
