Police spend hours searching old high school

CLEVELAND , Ohio (WJW) – At least five people were caught stealing copper pipes from a former high school.

Cleveland police and the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department spent almost three hours late Thursday night and early Friday morning searching the closed Martin Luther King Jr. High School on E. 71 st Street and Lexington Avenue.

Officials said five suspects were caught stealing copper pipes.

Cleveland police were spotted carrying a saw from the building.

There’s been no word on the names or ages of the suspects.
