CLEVELAND (WJW) -— It was an exciting time at FOX 8 in Cleveland Saturday morning, as 18 new students were welcomed into the Dawson Foundation family of scholars, being awarded scholarships to various colleges and universities.
The foundation is the brainchild of our own Wayne Dawson and his brother Judge William Dawson, in memory of their mother Annie L. Dawson.
“What we want to do is just be a blessing to others,” the Dawson brothers said. “We want to help others here in Northeast Ohio. Young people have the potential to do great things if we can help them just a little bit our job is done.”

This is the 16th year for this event, and as always, the day began with a reception and words of encouragement from host of motivational speakers.
After the awards, the students received their $1,000 scholarships to help pay for their education.
