Broadway’s ‘The Notebook’ Announces Final Performance Ahead of 2025 National Tour

The beloved new musical The Notebook, based on Nicholas Sparks’ bestselling novel, will play its final Broadway performance at the Schoenfeld Theatre on Sunday, December 15, according to a press release. As the show prepares to close on Broadway, it will soon embark on its First National Tour, launching at Playhouse Square in Cleveland, OH, in September 2025, with additional cities to be announced.

Following a critically acclaimed world premiere at Chicago Shakespeare Theater, The Notebook opened on Broadway on March 14, 2024. By its final curtain on December 15, the show will have played 35 previews and 317 regular performances at the Schoenfeld Theatre.

The musical’s success has extended beyond the stage, with its Original Broadway Cast Recording debuting at #1 on the Top Broadway chart in Music Connect. The album, featuring music and lyrics by multi-platinum singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson, includes the breakout single “My Days,” which recently surpassed 4 million streams.

Critics have praised The Notebook as “romantic, life-affirming and ingeniously adapted” (USA Today), with Entertainment Weekly calling it “full of butterfly-inducing highs, stunning performances, and beautiful songs.” The New York Amsterdam News declared it “one of the most epic, romantic, touching musicals ever to grace Broadway.”
