CLEVELAND (WJW) — The FOX 8 I-Team found punishment has been handed out to a Cleveland police dispatcher heard cursing at a 911 caller.
The city said dispatcher Avery Edge received a suspension of three days.
Over 35 animals removed from Lily Rose Lee’s animal shelter
An internal investigation found the dispatcher used foul language when a woman called 911 to report road rage.
So we asked how the city decided on that punishment.
In June, a woman called 911 to report someone pointed a gun at her. She reported road rage that started on the Jennings Freeway and continued downtown.
But on the recording, you hear the dispatcher lose his temper with the caller and curse.
“What is going on?” the dispatcher asks.
The caller then says, “Gray Ford Escape. Did you get the license plate number?”
The dispatcher responds with, “I’m asking you: What happened?”
To that, the caller then says, “What do you mean what happened?”
At that point, the dispatcher says, “What happened? I already have the [expletive] license plate. What happened?”
