Ronald Rendon-Luna, 37, a Mexican national residing in Painesville, Ohio, has been sentenced to more than 12 years in federal prison, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Northern District of Ohio announced today.
According to court documents, the Cartel, Gangs, Narcotics and Laundering Task Force of the FBI-Cleveland Division conducted a drug-trafficking investigation that led to the arrest of Rendon-Luna and three other co-conspirators with direct connections to the Sinaloa Cartel, the department stated.
Law enforcement officials discovered that between June 2022 and January 2023, Nefer Ojeda-Elenes, 32, of Upland, California, conspired with Ronald Rendon-Luna to store illegal drugs in residences in Cleveland and Painesville, the department said.
Officials also found two storage units in Cleveland and Middleburg Heights were used as part of the operation, the department noted.
Rendon-Luna, on behalf of Ojeda-Elenes, traveled to area hotels to meet a third co-conspirator, Cameron Harris, 29, of Dayton, the department said.
