Cleveland mayor appoints police commander who’s under investigation for using homophobic slurs

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Mayor Justin Bibb is coming under fire after appointing a controversial cop to oversee large parts of the city. City officials confirm Captain Timothy Maffo-Judd is being investigated for a “violence in the workplace and retaliation” complaint filed in 2022 by a fellow officer – which included allegations he used homophobic slurs when referring to the LGBTQ community.
