Body recovered from Lake Erie shoreline: Cleveland fire officials

CLEVELAND (WJW) – Police detectives are investigating after a body was recovered along the Lake Erie shoreline in Cleveland’s Edgewater neighborhood on Monday.

First responders were called to the scene in the 10400 block of Cliff Drive.

The Cleveland Division of Fire took to X just before 3 p.m ., stating firefighters were helping Metroparks police and the U.S. Coast Guard with recovery efforts.

Fire officials later confirmed that the body of a male, possibly in his 20s, was found along the shoreline between Cliff Drive and Lake Erie.

Investigators say the cause of death is unknown at this time.

Metroparks police are handling the ongoing investigation.
