PARMA , Ohio (WJW) — A Monday fire at a Broadview Road nursing home was contained by the building’s sprinkler system, according to Parma firefighters. No one was injured.
Firefighters responded at about 5 p.m. on Monday to a report of smoke and a possible fire at Parma Care Center, 5553 Broadview Road, a nursing home and rehabilitation center with 96 beds, according to a Monday news release from Fire Chief Mike Lasky.

They found the fire in the basement, kept under control by sprinklers. Firefighters then fully extinguished the fire.
No one was hurt or displaced by the fire.

“This incident is a great example of well maintained as well as regularly inspected fire suppression and alarm systems working properly to mitigate the risk of fire spread,” reads the release.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
