Findley pleaded guilty in August to federal charges of sabotaging train tracks in the city after he was indicted in November of 2023 on four counts of violence against railroad carriers and mass transportation systems.

He was accused of putting “railroad spikes, tie plates and other pieces of metal” in the track switch mechanism and guardrails at an “active” CSX rail intersection near East 55th Street in Cleveland, which is used by freight and Amtrak passenger trains, according to the indictment.

The sabotage caused the wheels of one train to derail, but they eventually returned to the tracks, FOX 8 News previously reported .

Surveillance footage showed Findley at the scene five times between August and Oct. 1, 2023, putting things on the tracks.
