Fraudulent toll payment texts target Ohio drivers: What you should do

BEREA, Ohio — Are you getting text messages telling you to pay your unpaid tolls? First of all, you are not the only one, and second, just ignore it. The texts are part of a nationwide texting scam.

The Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission is reminding everyone to be aware of a “resurgence” in fraudulent texts from scammers asking to be paid through fake websites for tolls left unpaid, the commission wrote in a statement Friday.
