Pennsylvania & Ohio Weather Alert: Strong Winds Up to 50 MPH Expected This Weekend

Pittsburgh, PA – Residents in western Pennsylvania and northern Ohio should prepare for strong winds this weekend, with gusts potentially exceeding 50 mph in some areas. Breezy conditions are expected outside of thunderstorms, impacting travel and outdoor activities.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Pittsburgh, the highest wind gusts will likely occur along the ridges of Pennsylvania and West Virginia, where gusts could surpass 50 mph. Other areas, including eastern Ohio, the northern West Virginia panhandle, and southwest Pennsylvania, have a high chance of experiencing gusts over 40 mph.

The strongest winds are forecast for Saturday, March 15, and Sunday, March 16. Elevated areas and ridgelines will be most affected, but wind speeds of 40-50 mph are possible throughout the region.
