CLEVELAND — Trinity Ford, one of three people charged in the 2024 fatal shooting of Antwoina Carter last year on Cleveland’s east side, was sentenced to prison on Wednesday.
Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Judge Deborah Turner sentenced the 20-year-old Ford to a prison term of five to six years.
In January, Ford pleaded guilty to one count of involuntary manslaughter with a one-year firearm specification. She was previously indicted on two counts of murder, two counts of felonious assault, and a count of discharging a firearm on or near prohibited premises. Before her sentencing in February, Ford filed a motion to withdraw her plea. Earlier this month, her motion was denied.
CASE BACKGROUND
Carter, the 26-year-old mother of five, was fatally shot in the early morning hours of March 17, 2024. She had called police at around 3:50 a.m., claiming someone was threatening her at her house on Garfield Avenue. Police arrived at approximately 4:30 a.m. and spoke to Carter’s mother, who said someone had shot at her daughter’s car. Carter was not home when police arrived…
