Teen who saved family from burning home honored at Cavs game

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WJW) – Just over a week after helping save a mother and her children from a burning home in his neighborhood, 16-year-old Tyler Sowden was recognized at Sunday’s Cavs game at Rocket Arena.

Back on March 28, Sowden told Fox 8 he was just getting home from work when he heard screaming coming from one of his neighbors’ homes. He saw a mother and her children stuck on a roof at a house on Sacramento Avenue.

He immediately ran and grabbed a ladder. Going up and down it, helping them get to safety one by one.
