PITTSFIELD TWP. — Decades have passed since a string of deadly tornados swept through the Midwest on Palm Sunday 1965, but Pittsfield Township has not forgotten the destruction the storms wrought, or the resilience it fostered in the tiny, southern Lorain County town.
The Pittsfield and LaGrange Historical Societies marked the anniversary with a showcase of the storm’s impact and commemoration of the lives lost on Saturday.
