Local paralympic swimmer Breanna Sprenger dies at 23

AVON – A local paralympic swimmer has died.

Breanna Sprenger, 23, died May 1 following complications from a recent surgery.

At 12 years old, Sprenger swam for the U.S. Paralympic team in 2013 in Montreal, coming in sixth in the women’s 50-meter backstroke. Sprenger was born with no legs and only one arm and spoke of her journey extensively on social media and through interviews with The Chronicle-Telegram…
