Forecast: Expect more rounds of rain and storms

CLEVELAND (WJW) – Much of Northeast Ohio saw a break in the rain Sunday afternoon. There will be an uptick in the wet weather Sunday evening into Sunday night.

A cluster of rain showers, downpours and storms will move from southeast to northeast across the area early Sunday night. A stronger storm, or two, cannot be ruled out south of I-76. The rain activity will start to taper off after midnight.

A slow-moving upper-level low will continue to bring rounds of rain showers to Northeast Ohio through Tuesday.

A slight chance of rain will continue Sunday night. Areas of fog will develop overnight into Monday morning. Patchy thick fog will be possible. Visibilities could drop to less than a mile in some spots. Dense fog could slowdown the Monday morning commute for many. The fog should be gone by 10 a.m. Monday.

Scattered to numerous rain showers and storms will once again develop Monday afternoon/evening. Although the threat looks low, a few stronger storms cannot be ruled out, mainly for places along and east of I-77.

Temperatures will top out in the mid to upper 60s Monday afternoon.

Keep your rain gear handy on Tuesday too. Rain will be likely on the backside of the low pressure system.

Additional rainfall totals through Tuesday will likely range from 0.5 to 1.5″. The higher rainfall totals will likely fall across the primary snowbelt.

From this distance, the end of the workweek and next weekend look dry and warm. Here’s the latest 8-Day Forecast:…
