Police share new details about raccoon found with meth pipe during Ohio traffic stop

CLEVELAND — Springfield Township police on Wednesday shared new details about a bizarre traffic stop that made national headlines after officers found a raccoon in the driver’s seat with a meth pipe in its mouth.

At a press conference, police gave more information about the raccoon, named “Chewy,” and Chewy’s owner, Victoria Vidal.

The incident began around 7:15 p.m. Monday after an officer identified a vehicle had a registered owner with an active warrant and suspended driver’s license.
