Cleveland weather patterns are in for a bit of a rollercoaster, as reported by the National Weather Service in a local forecast discussion. A short-lived period of weak high pressure will give way to a cold front dropping south tonight, setting up Clevelanders for a cooler, potentially showery Thursday. By the weekend, the region should see conditions return to pleasant highs in the upper 60s to lower 70s.
Today, locals can expect low stratus and patches of dense fog to dissipate as temperatures climb to the upper 60s to low 70s; however, areas east of Cleveland along the lakeshore will likely see temperatures stalled in the low 60s, according to information from the National Weather Service. Overnight, as the aforementioned front moves south, we’re looking at cloudier skies, isolated to scattered light rain showers, or sprinkles on Thursday, and it’s getting chillier with lows in the 40s and daytime highs in the 50s to low 60s.
Looking forward to the short-term forecast, a cutoff upper trough may bring a few stray showers to interior northwest PA and Mahoning County through Friday afternoon. However, dry weather is anticipated mainly until Saturday, when a weak cold front sweeps the area. Despite this, the lack of moisture in the mid-levels means there’s little cause for worry about rain. Daytime temperatures will recover from the midweek dip, with highs ranging from the upper 50s to mid-60s on Friday before cresting into the 70s on Saturday…
