Cleveland Clinic to soon require copays up front

CLEVELAND (WJW) — Cleveland Clinic plans to collect copays before or at check-in, starting June 1.

Patients who can’t afford the copay before the visit will have to reschedule, according to an email announcing the change, sent to patients on Tuesday morning.

Drug-resistant fungus Candida auris reported in 17 states, including Ohio

The new policy is for nonemergency outpatient services including:

  • Scheduled office visits with primary care physicians or specialists
  • Therapy services, such as physical, occupational or speech
  • Outpatient diagnostic testing like imaging and scheduled lab work
  • Outpatient procedural visits and in-office procedures
