Man wanted for alleged rape and beating of elderly woman in Cleveland

CLEVELAND (WJW) — Crime Stoppers of Cuyahoga County is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and indictment of a man accused of brutally beating and raping an elderly woman.

According to Crime Stoppers, the incident took place nearly a year ago on June 25, 2024, in the area of East 79th Street and Rawlings Avenue.

A poster detailing the reward and alleged crime shows a picture of the suspect and a darkcolored Chevy Equinox he was driving at the time. Officials note the vehicle has a small tire on the driver’s side rear wheel.

According to the poster, the Cleveland Police Department is looking for the public’s help to identify the man, as well as his whereabouts.
