Cleveland Set to Receive $27 Million in Federal Funding for Community Revitalization Efforts

The City of Cleveland is gearing up to infuse local community development with a significant financial boost courtesy of federal funds. As per a public notice released on the City of Cleveland’s website, a proposal to accept over $27 million from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is set to be brought before the Cleveland City Council. The funds are earmarked for a variety of critical programs intended to fortify the living conditions of Cleveland’s residents.

The breakdown of the incoming funds, detailed here, allocates nearly $19.5 million for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. Following that, the Home Investment Partnerships (HOME) Program is receiving an injection of over $4.2 million. In comparison, the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) Program and the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) Program are set to receive approximately $1.8 million and $2.4 million, respectively.
