CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio (WJW) – The Cuyahoga Falls Fire Department was at the scene of a water rescue Saturday night after a man and a 5-year-old child capsized inside their kayak.

Dispatchers confirmed to FOX 8 News that the department was called to an area on Front Street after hearing reports of the rescue in the area.
According to a press release from the Akron Police Department, the Akron Fire Dive Team was called to the scene just after 7:50 p.m. after it was reported that a man and a child were in the water after their kayak capsized near the Sheraton Heading.
As of 9:55 p.m., rescue efforts were suspended and will resume in the morning.
