Gasoline pours into roadway after driver runs over hose from fuel truck at South Euclid Speedway

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio — A vehicle drove over a gas hose that was dispensing fuel from a gasoline supply truck at Speedway around 10 p.m. June 17.

As a result, the hose disconnected from the truck and fuel leaked into parking lot and onto the roadway.

It was determined that the unloading zone was not properly marked with cones, so the driver was unable to see the fuel hose as she went around the truck. The Cleveland Heights woman had left the business without realizing what she had run over and later explained to officers that she was not even sure she hit anything. She did not feel she was responsible for the cost of the lost fuel since the zone was not properly marked. She said that she would come to the station and provide her insurance but she did not…
