Euclid Police Department honors fallen officer Jacob Derbin with new K-9

HIRAM, Ohio (WJW) — Chinook, the year and a half old Belgian Malinois, is the newest member of the Euclid Police Department.

And although he would still be considered a rookie officer he’s already wearing a badge of honor.

“It was important for me that officer chinook was going to be dedicated to Jacob it was important for me to be his handler so we’re going to carry on Jacob’s legacy as best we can.” Euclid Police Officer and Chinook’s handler Jeremy Puszakowski said.
