‘He loved them’: Community mourns man who saved kids from Cleveland apartment explosion

CLEVELAND (WJW) – Northeast Ohioans are paying tribute to Cordale Sheffield, the heroic Cleveland man who died on Thursday of severe burns that he suffered in the June 23 explosion at the Rainbow Terrace apartments on the city’s east side.

The blast shattered a section of the complex on Garden Valley Avenue.

The 30-year-old Sheffield was blown out of a window by the blast but realized that his two stepchildren were still inside the burning building…
