Cold Case Heats Up: 2011 Ohio Murder Suspect Arrested In Florida

Polk County Deputies, FBI Assist in Capture of Alleged Cleveland Murderer

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A multi-agency investigation spanning over a decade culminated yesterday in the arrest of an Ohio man in Dundee, Florida, in connection with a 2011 Cleveland murder. Dojuan Nettles, 39, was taken into custody without incident at a residence on Lemon Avenue.

The arrest comes after the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) was contacted by the FBI and the Cleveland (Ohio) Police Department (CPD) for assistance in their ongoing murder investigation. CPD had identified Nettles as a possible suspect in the cold case.

Detectives with the PCSO obtained a DNA sample from Nettles, which was then compared to DNA evidence collected from the Cleveland crime scene. The results of the comparison confirmed a positive match, linking Nettles directly to the 2011 homicide…
