CLEVELAND, Ohio – A former city of Cleveland employee is under investigation, accused of paying $672,050 over the course of 14 years to her nephew, though he never actually did any work.
A police report filed April 28 accuses a former office manager for TV20, the city of Cleveland’s public-access channel, of forgery and theft. Cleveland.com is not naming the former office manager or her nephew because neither has been charged in the case.
City spokesperson Sarah Johnson said the investigation is ongoing and didn’t offer further details. The Ohio state auditor’s office also confirmed that they are “reviewing issues that were brought to light during the city’s most recent financial audit.”…
