ELYRIA — Henry Spooner was sentenced Monday to serve at least 26 years in prison before he is eligible for parole.
Lorain County Common Pleas Judge Giovanna Bremke sentenced Spooner, 23, of Elyria, almost a week after a jury found him guilty of one count of murder, two counts of felonious assault and one count of improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, all felonies, and three related firearms specifications.
Jurors rejected Spooner’s argument that he shot and killed 24-year-old Jordan Flanigan in self-defense after Flanigan allegedly threatened to shoot him at the Midview Crossing Apartments on Middle Avenue in Elyria in October 2022…
