CLEVELAND, Ohio — The officer who was driving Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb when he crashed into another vehicle last year could face a week’s suspension for the incident.
Cleveland Police Chief Dorothy Todd on Wednesday recommended a five-day suspension without pay after the city’s Civilian Police Review Board found Det. Demetrius Woods violated department policy in the June 13, 2024 crash.
The police review board will have until Tuesday to decide whether it will accept the punishment. If so, the suspension stands; if not, the case is referred back to the city’s public safety director…
