Driver charged with drug possession, failure to control after car crashes into utility pole: Westlake Police Blotter

WESTLAKE, Ohio – Officers responding to a single-vehicle crash at 12:30 p.m. on July 28 arrested the car’s driver after finding white rocks of suspected cocaine in a small plastic bag at the scene.

The driver, whose car had crashed into a utility pole on Detroit Road east of Crocker Road, told officers that the rocks were cocaine, according to a police department statement.

The 19-year-old Westlake man said that suspension work was recently completed on the car, and something must have gone wrong mechanically, causing him to lose control. Investigation revealed that the man had no driver’s license. He was arrested and charged with felony drug possession, failure to control, and operating a vehicle without a license…
