Bedford residents Yolonda and Chanel Magby are making headlines as they compete in the nationwide America’s Favorite Couple contest. The prize? A $20,000 cash award and a feature in Variety magazine. The Magbys are currently in 3rd place in their group, and they’re calling on the community for support—voting is free and can be done daily.
Known for their humor, love of adventure, and passion for zoos, aquariums, museums, waterparks, and gaming, the Magbys say their relationship was built on friendship and fun. Their love story began in 2016 after Yolonda won a PlayStation and joined a GTA (Grand Theft Auto) Facebook group. Although they couldn’t game together due to different systems, a connection quickly formed. Living in New York and Ohio at the time, they kept in touch, officially began dating in 2018, and by 2019 Yolonda had moved to Ohio. The couple got engaged, had a child in 2020, and married in 2021.
They say meeting in person for the first time felt like reuniting with a long-lost best friend. If they win the $20,000 prize, the couple plans to take a memorable family vacation and save the rest…
