Ohioans are drinking less alcohol. What the numbers say

CLEVELAND — Drinking spiked dramatically during the stress-filled coronavirus pandemic, but now, years removed from that global health crisis, national and statewide trends reveal that alcohol consumption is on the decline.

State liquor sales support that trend, and a Cleveland restaurateur says patrons have changed their approach to how they socialize since the pandemic in line with that change.
