CHARDON, Ohio — After more than two dozen crashes in the last five years, including two fatal incidents, the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) says it is beginning the process of turning a Geauga County intersection into a four-way stop.
In a release sent on Monday, ODOT announced that the new four-way stop at State Route 608 (Old State Road) and Chardon-Windsor Road in Claridon Township will go into effect on Sept. 9. It will feature stop signs, all-way stop plaques, and painted stop bars to be installed on SR 608.
ODOT says it will begin to notify motorists traveling on SR 608 this week, with message boards announcing the new traffic pattern. Additionally, new signs that will read “Be Prepared to Stop” and “New Stop” will be placed at the intersection…
