‘Unacceptable’: Cleveland City Councilman Richard Starr presses Bibb administration for answers on fatal fire at Rainbow Terrace Apartments

CLEVELAND — More than two months after a fatal explosion at a Cleveland apartment building that destroyed 44 units, a Cleveland councilman is demanding answers from Mayor Justin Bibb’s administration.

In a letter sent on Tuesday to Bibb, Councilman Richard Starr “expressed his profound disappointment with the current administration’s handling of the situation” following the June 23 fire at the Rainbow Terrace Apartments on Garden Valley Avenue. Starr’s Ward 5 includes the residents of Rainbow Terrace.

“It has now been over 63 days since this incident claimed the life of Cordale Sheffield, and it is unacceptable that we still do not have a complete investigation report,” Starr wrote…
