Cleveland man sentenced to 10 years for robbing ATF informant

CLEVELAND, Ohio — A Cleveland man was sentenced Monday to 10 years in prison for robbing an informant working with federal agents during a gun-trafficking investigation.

Carl Lewis, 28, and another man pointed guns at the informant and stole $2,500 that was intended to buy three guns at the behest of the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

U.S. District Judge Pamela Barker handed down the sentence, noting the violent nature of the robbery and Lewis’ extensive criminal record that began in his difficult childhood…
