Running groups implementing safety measures after jogger brutally attacked in Rocky River Reservation

LAKEWOOD (WJW) — The Northeast Ohio running community is shaken after a 24-year-old woman said she was brutally attacked during a run in the Rocky River Reservation.

Amy Washington, co-founder of Ready Set! Run, a west side running club, said the victim was part of their community.

“It’s absolutely horrific. And it’s just a terrible reminder that we as women need to stay vigilant,” she said. “You hear about these things but never think it will hit so close to home.”
