What we know about police activity in Shaker Heights

SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio (WJW) — Police in Shaker Heights asked the public on Wednesday morning to avoid Van Aken Boulevard due to “police activity.”

The advisory was posted to the department’s Facebook page at about 10 a.m. and said Van Aken Boulevard eastbound, between Ashby and Lee roads, was temporarily closed.

A FOX 8 crew on the scene reported that police unblocked the road shortly after 11 a.m. However, officers remained on scene for about another half-hour.

It wasn’t immediately clear what kind of police activity was taking place.
